Educational Session (8 CECs)
"Drip and Micro Irrigation"
Presented by Art Elmers & Ted Moriarty
Over the last 30+ years, drip and micro irrigation have had a significant impact on the Green Industry. While based upon the fundamental principles of irrigation hydraulics, and soil science, this segment of the industry requires a somewhat different perspective in order to fully realize its important contribution to water conservation in the landscape that has grown and expanded over the years.
This class, in two four-hour sessions, will provide an in-depth look at not only on some irrigation fundamentals, but also a comprehensive look at the many ways drip and micro-irrigation can be used effectively and successfully with the focus on saving water in beautiful landscapes.
Among the many topics covered will include--basic hydraulics and soil science, design and installation tips for basic and unique applications, scheduling guidance, small and large projects, indoor growing, rainwater, addressing green codes and initiatives and "thinking outside the box" ideas and discussion.
Part 1 of the class will run from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., followed by a lunch break. Part 2 of the class will run from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
